The Cassandra Project
Sexual Harassment and the Academy: A Website to Inform and Guide Graduate History Students
WHO WE ARE
The Cassandra Project is a collective effort to provide resources about sexual harassment policies at selected American southern universities –designed mainly for Master’s and Ph.D. history students.
Inspired by the #MeToo Movement, we gather information about high-profile sexual harassment incidents, with an emphasis on those in the academy. The site also offers some basic knowledge about legal rights surrounding sexual harassment.

WHAT WE DO
We are there.
We provide education.
We link to the sexual harassment guidelines for each southern university listed. We also offer links to published news stories on incidents of sexual harassment in the academy and to other websites which aggregate such stories.
We are human.
We are the first step, not the last resort. We offer basic information to help students choose a graduate history program at a southern university. We do not provide private information in complaints against sexual harassment in these universities, nor are we lawyers to whom you would take a case.
Want to help?
Do you know of published accounts of sexual harassment in the academy not listed on this website? Have you come across clear, helpful summaries of sexual harassment law? Do you know of particular good or bad examples of university sexual misconduct policies? Share them with us!
